Give up

Do you want to give up?

We are all in need of some encouragement.

Maybe you are a new mom in the throws of sleepless nights. You just can’t seem to get your head above the water. You are surviving each day, but barely. Maybe you have teenagers. No one knows it, but you spend a lot of sleepless nights worrying over the decisions they have made or will made. Maybe you received a life-changing phone call today confirming the worst. Maybe you are at a really low point in your life and you aren’t sure there is much else to live for. I don’t know where you are, dear one.

I don’t, but God does.

He hasn’t left you. He’s right there with you while you take that call. He sees those silent tears that fall on your pillow each night. That time today when you stood in the playroom in tears of frustration because your children would not listen? Yep, He was there. The fight you had with your loved one? There again. He’s never left you.

I pray that no matter where you are, these verses minster to you. You, my friend, are loved.

Scriptures When You Want to Give Up

Exodus 14:13-14 – And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 – We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

Nahum 1:7 – The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 – For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

Isaiah 41:10 – “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Psalm 9:9 – The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Isaiah 40:31 – but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Colossians 3:15 – And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Encouragement

Action Steps

Grab some index cards, scrapbook paper, whatever you need to make some Scripture cards. You can make them as elaborate or as simple as you like. The important thing is that you use them.

Now that you have made your cards, place them in places you frequent each day. By the kitchen sink, in a cabinet, on a bathroom mirror, by a door, in the laundry room. Think about your day and what happens during the day. Maybe take the cards with you and place them in all of your places you spend your time each day. You can also keep the cards together, punch a hole in the corner and put them on a ring. Slip them into your purse or diaper bag so they are handy when you need a little encouragement.

Now you have 10 Scriptures to help you get through the hard days, and 10 more Scriptures to encourage your soul.

What Scriptures would you add?
