Bonefish Grill provided us with a $50 gift card to try their new menu. All opinions are my own.

With four kids under the age of six, date nights are few and far between. That’s why I love these ideas. They remind me that it is possible to keep the romance alive when money is tight and you have littles. But sometimes you just need to get out of the house. Am I right? If we can’t do one of these fun dates, one of my favorite things to do together is to try new restaurants.

I’ve never considered myself a foodie. I’m not exactly sure what that means exactly. But I do love food. I love trying new foods {within reason}. New restaurants are my favorite!

When the opportunity arose to try the new menu at Bonefish Grill, I jumped at it. We pass by Bonefish Grill a lot, but have never eaten there. It looks so fancy on the outside, and never really looked kid friendly. With 4 littles, our restaurants have to be kid friendly. We prefer the international restaurants when we go out as a family because they don’t stare at the number of our children or seem to mind their volume. Ha!

Date night at Bonefish Grill? Yes, please!

Date Night Bonefish Grill

I was super intimidated trying to get ready for this date night. Silly? Yes. But it was a real struggle. This almost 5 month postpartum body, is not fitting into clothes well. I have a handful of outfits I can wear, and hardly any of them are “date night” outfits. {What even does that mean exactly?} I finally just had to look myself in the mirror and remind myself of whose I am. I am His. God created me in His image no matter what size I am. My baby isn’t even 6 months old yet. I needed to give myself grace. My husband didn’t care what I wore. He was just excited to have a date night with me. The only thing that mattered was that we were together and could talk without interruptions. Yay!

If you have never been to Bonefish Grill, I highly recommend it. The prices were reasonable. Honestly, I expected them to be more expensive, which is another reason we had never eaten there.

We started our meal with the Bang Bang Shrimp Flatbread, which is on the new menu. So delicious! I have been craving it since we ate there! There was definitely a “bang” to it. I can see why their Bang Bang Shrimp is a customer favorite. Then they brought out their bread and dipping goodness. YUM! The bread was crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just like bread should be.

It was so hard to choose our entrees. I really wanted to try the Baja Fish Tacos, the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos, or the Ribeye Steak. Of course the Watermelon Salad and the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad also sounded good. In the end, I chose the Lobster Grilled Cheese because it came with a salad AND lobster bisque {one of my favorite soups!}. Although I thought the bread was a little too thick, the Lobster Grilled Cheese did not disappoint. I wish they would serve the Lobster Bisque as part of their menu. It was delicious. My husband ordered the Spicy Tuna Bowl. He really enjoyed it. I snagged a bite before it was gone. It was a tad spicy, but just the right amount of spice. He said he would definitely order it again. I’m not a huge tuna fan, but it was good.

That was so much food! But the chance to have dessert with little hands trying to take it away? We had to order dessert. I wanted to stick with the new menu theme, so we got the S’mores Flatbread. It was okay. It looks delicious. It may be your favorite dessert. I guess I’m more traditional with my desserts. I was expecting real marshmallows, not marshmallow creme. I thought it might be warm and a little toasty, not just have a torch run over it a few times. It was good, don’t get me wrong. If you’re not a big chocolate fan, get the creme brûlée. Now that, was amazing.
